Nature's Therapy: The Benefits of Bird Feeding, July 12, 3pm to 4pm at Wild Birds Unlimited

Studies show that watching and listening to birds can have therapeutic effects, like stress relief, lowering cortisol, improving cognition, and providing connection. We'll discuss the latest research and share the many joys of bird feeding.

Birds and Botany Tour of Columbia Mine Preserve with Sycamore Land Trust, July 11, 8am to 11am

Join us for a stroll at Columbia Mine Preserve with Ken Keffer of Wild Birds Unlimited and Saige Sentell of Sycamore Land Trust. We'll explore the prairies and open habitats that are teeming with birds and wildflowers! Sign up at sycamorelandtrust.org/events

Backyard Bird Feeding Discussion, July 1, 4pm at Juniper Art Gallery

Join us at Juniper Art Gallery for a lively discussion on backyard birds. We'll discuss the 12 elements of a thoughtful feeding station and ways we can all help save the declining song bird population.

Family Night Out, June 10, 4:30pm to 8pm on Kirkwood (in front of the downtown library)

We'll be one of the vendors at Family Night Out, happening the second Wednesday of every month this summer. Stop by and see what fun bird activities we'll have for you. Bring the kids, enjoy local food, live music, and hands-on crafts. 

Free In-Store Presentation on Mason Bees, May 17, 3pm to 4pm at Wild Birds Unlimited Bloomington

Join us for a fascinating presentation on the secret life of mason bees. Our newest staff member and recent education grad from IU, Lucy Fischer, will discuss how we can help preserve and protect the habitat of our local mason bee presentation.

Free Bird Walk, May 2, 2026 at Fairfax State Recreation Area 8am to 10am

We're partnering with the Bloomington Area Birding Facebook Group for another outdoor adventure. This event is free and open to the public. All experience levels welcome!
Please register using this link, as space is limited.

Naturalists Scott Evans and Ken Keffer will lead the group. Plan to meet at the beach parking lot at Fairfax State Recreation Area at 8am. Suggested items to bring include binoculars, a camera, a scope. We'll also have extra binoculars and a scope for people to try.

Please note a State Parks Pass or small fee is required to entry this area.
